There is no quarantine for dogs and cats entering the U.S.A. or Canada from
the United Kingdom.
Some birds are subject to quarantine in the USA at the New York, Miami or
Los Angeles Government quarantine station.
Dogs and Cats returning to the U.K. are still subject to six months quarantine
except those complying with the requirements of the UK PET Passport System.
The only documents required are a Veterinary Certificate of Health issued
within 7 days of shipment.
It is recommended that the pet has a rabies vaccination after arrival
as the cost is half the price charged by veterinarians in the U.K. There
are
no compulsory
vaccinations required to enter this country.
Dogs and Cats must not be shipped to arrive in the United States on a
Saturday or Sunday. Birds can only enter the United States if an import
permit has
been obtained prior to shipment.
A rabies vaccination should be given at least 30 days prior to export.
Also required is a veterinary certificate of health issued no more than
5 days
prior to shipment.
Canada requires a Residency Certificate stating the dog or cat has resided
in the U.K. for the past 6 months or since birth.
Birds can only enter Canada as excess baggage by Air Canada and an import
permit must be obtained prior to travel.
To enable us to give you an accurate quotation for the shipment
of your dog we need to know the exact size. Measure with the dog in the
standing position
from nose to base of tail in a straight line and from ground to the
