Par Air Quarantine Kennels in Essex are situated 3 miles on the west side of Colchester easily accessible from the main London to Ipswich A12. Buses from the centre of Colchester stop 500 yards from the kennels. The nearest railway station is 3 miles away.
Our kennels and cattery are specially designed to meet the D.E.F.R.A. requirements and have been constructed with the comfort and well being of the animal in mind. All our kennels and catteries have an indoor sleeping area with an outside run attached. Not more than 3 animals from the same owner may share a single unit, and dogs and cats in quarantine are not allowed to share a single unit together. All units are heated during the winter months. Inspection of our quarantine facilities by owners or their representatives are welcomed.
Our Veterinary Surgeon checks each cat and dog in quarantine on a daily basis and if necessary treat your pet and advise on any special diet your pet may need.
Owners are welcomed to visit their pets during their stay. Visiting is from 2.00pm to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday. There is also visiting Saturday mornings between 8.00am to 10.00am by appointment, there is no visiting on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
Dogs and cats may not enter the U.K. until an Import Permit has been obtained from DEFRA, we will obtain this on your behalf. It is also necessary to complete a contract with us and pay a deposit of 28 days kennelling, airport collections plus any charges for vaccinations and airline handling fees before the pet arrives in the U.K.
For owners wishing to quarantine their dogs and cats in other parts of the country we offer a U.K. Quarantine Service, making the pets reservation, obtaining an Import Permit, collecting the pet from the docks or airport, clearing through customs and delivering to the chosen quarantine kennel of your choice.
Short term quarantine available for dogs and cats entering under the U.K. PET Passport System that have not completed the six month period after the blood test, or dogs and cats from approved countries that do not have approved flights into the United Kingdom.
